Authoring a Test Leveraging KDS Items


The easiest way to build your own assessments is to use the KDS items within your assessment.  To create an assessment, first login to edifyAssess and click on Author Content.


From the edifyAuthor, click on create New Assessment.

Fill in the information, selecting your Subject, Standard Set and Standards.  Click Next.


Click on Add Existing Item.


Click on Advanced Search.


Enter or lookup the standard that you are trying to find an item for.

Select the Item Type - if you are wanting a TEI item, make sure and select it here.

Select the Standard Set.

Select the DOK or other selection.

Click Search when finished.


You can click on an Item ID to view the item.  Once you find an item you like, click the Browser Back button.  Then click the small check box next to the item and scroll to the bottom of the page and click Add to Assessment.


NOTE:  you can also search for items by the Item Number.  HOWEVER, items you see on pre-built assessments are not available for use unless you copy the item first and then publish a new version of it.


You can add additional items if you want as well.


Click Return to Assessment when you are finished. Your new items will show in the assessment.


When you are finished building your assessment - you MUST click Publish to make the assessment available for you to assign to students.
