Tag View

Tag View

Tag View is another way to add or edit artifacts in a users Portfolio. In addition to this method you may also wish to look at Tagging and Sharing Artifacts or Managing Portfolio Documents.

To get started:

  1. Log in to Teacher Vitae

  2. Click on My Portfolio

  1. The Tag View tab is located on the left side of the screen with the Folder View.

Note: The only difference in the table on the right side of the screen between Folder View And Tag View is in Tag View there is one additional column named Folder. When a Tag is highlighted in Tag View This column will show the folder that the Artifact is in.

  1.  Click the tab Tag View

  1. Once in Tag View there are two display options:

    1. Active: Any Tags currently assigned to any of your Artifacts and the count of that type of Tag.

    2. All: A list of all the Tag Families in your district and a count of the ones in your Portfolio.

  1. You can open the Tag Families by clicking the Arrow next to the Tag Family Name. This shows the entire list of Tags that are contained in each Tag Family.

Note: This is a small area and due to the small size if the name of the Tag is larger than the area it is housed the name will be seen as an ellipsis ( … ) and can be read by hovering over that row.

  1. You can filter the Tag Families by clicking the filter icon and setting a filter by contains or starts with. Due to limitations in the functionality of the control, doing a filter will not always preserve the hierarchical structure of the Tag family and its children.

  1. If there is a number besides 0 in the count column, there is a document with a Tag from that Tag Family in your Portfolio. Note that the value of Count for a Tag Family is the SUM of the number of artifacts associated with the child tags beneath it, not the number of child tags that have associated artifacts.

  1. To view the Artifact

    1. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Tag Family with the number.

    2. Click the Tag that has the number.

  1. This will populate the Table on the right side of the screen where you can see:

    1. School Year = the year that the Artifact was added.

    2. Name = The name of the Artifact

    3. Form = The type of Form used to create the Artifact.

    4. Folder = The folder where the Artifact is.

    5. Status =  The Status of the Artifact (ie Not Started, In Progress, Finalized)

    6. Action:

      1. Edit the Artifact

      2. View the Artifact

      3. More

        1. Print

        2. Move to another folder

        3. Share with a colleague or supervisor

        4. Delete the artifact

        5. Undelete Document (only available on items in the Trash) folder)

        6. Delete Permanently (only available on items in the Trash) folder)

  1. If you have more Artifacts that need to be added to this Tag and Tag Family you can do it from the top of the table by clicking + Add Artifact

  1. An Add Artifact window will open.

  2. Find your Artifact from the list of existing forms (in most cases the Basic Document is used).

  1. In the Action column you can click:

    1. Preview to look over a document before selecting it.

    2. Select to choose the correct document.

  2. Name the Artifact

  3. Select the Folder to place the Artifact.

  4. Select the School Year.

  5. Select the Date

  6. The default Tag is the Tag from the Tag Family that you started from. However, you can change the Tag or add additional Tags in the the last box on the page.

  7. Click Confirm

  1.  Upon saving an artifact, the application will redirect back to Portfolio and highlight the folder where the new artifact has been created.
