Setting and Reporting on Migrant or Immigrant Status for Students

Setting and Reporting on Migrant or Immigrant Status for Students

To report on either your migrant or immigrant students, you will need to set that status within the Admin console of Mileposts and then build an Advanced Class List. This list can be a permanent dynamic list for you to keep using.

Below are the instructions on how to do this.

First, set the migrant status on the student. To do this you will need administrator privileges in Mileposts.

Click on Admin.

Click on SMS Setup under Mileposts setup.

Click on Students.

Find your student(s) in the list and then click on the pencil on the left.

Click on the Demographics tab.

Check the box for Migrant and/or Immigrated. Then Click Save.

Do this for all students you want to report on.

Now click on the Mileposts link to go back to the Home Page in Mileposts.

To create a custom group of Migrant Students. Click on Classes. Then Create Advanced Class List.

Select all Schools, all grades. Then select the Migrant and/or Immigrant checkboxes at the bottom.

Then Click Filter.

This will result in a list of students with that criteria. Click Save List.

Save this list as a Dynamic List meaning when new kids are added to the Migrant and/or Immigrated status, they automatically update in your list. Give your list a name and choose whether you want a Personal List for just yourself or one that will show up as a school list for others (with district access) as well.

After saving the list, you can choose which report to run.

Then you will see just those students.
