Migrate a Custom Class List to the New School Year

Migrate a Custom Class List to the New School Year

List Migration

List Migration allows you to migrate any list you own from the previous school year to the current school year. The current school year is defined by the specified current year in EdHub.

Dynamic lists are great lists to move from one year to the next as they will regenerate based on current year information.  For example, if you had a list of all 5th graders, if you migrate that list to the new year - you will get the students who are 5th grade in the current school year.

Static lists can also be moved, but the same students will be in the new group as they are not chosen dynamically based on criteria.

To migrate a custom class list, from the home screen click on:

1. Classes

2. Class Migration to new school year.

Next Steps:

1. Your previous year class lists will be shown in this window.

2. Notice you will get information about the list, this list had 305 students in 2020-2021, but it will have 309 based on the same criteria for the 2021-2022 school year.

3. Click the blue arrow to indicate you want this list moved to the current school year.

Choose all the lists you wish to migrate, then click Save.

These lists will now show in your Class Lists view and be available for the current school year.
