Searching for and Assigning Assessments From Key Data Systems (KDS)

Directions to Access Interim Assessments

Key Data Systems


In order to access and assign these assessments, you must have administrative permission as established during the setup process with Silverback Learning.


  1. Log into edifyAssess

  2. Select one of your classes.

  3. Click on Advanced Search from the Class Main Page 

4.  Under the Item Bank tab select Inspect Assessment Bank as shown below and then click on the green Search button:



5.  The list of Interim Assessments for students in Grades 6-11 will be listed and available for your review as shown below.  You will have three Interim Assessments for each grade level in reading and mathematics as well as Algebra I & II and Geometry.


Pre-viewing the Interim Assessment:

You will be able to preview any of the Interim Assessments by clicking on the blue hyperlink for each assessment and using one of the preview options in the drop-down as shown below.  You will also see the list of Standards that are being assessed and how many questions cover each Strand.

Below you will find a question from the Inspect Algebra I Green 2018-2019 Paper Allowable Interim Assessment.  The assessment can be taken by students online and/or by using a printed copy of the assessment and a bubble sheet that is scanned so the results are uploaded to edifyAssess and reporting is timely.

Assigning the Interim Assessment

If you would like to assign the assessment after you have previewed it you will just click on the Assign tab located on the Assessment Details page.   

You will then be directed to the Assign Assignment Settings in which you will set up the details of the assessment:  Select Students, Assign Settings, Online Settings then select SAVE  at the bottom of the page to confirm your assignment.
